So, when can we expect to see Hyperloop used in the modern world? Well, some development and construction of Hyperloop transport has already commenced and has been around as far back as 2017, when Virgin Hyperloop One constructed a fully functionable Hyperloop pod in Nevada. The pod reached speeds of 387 kilometres per hour. Thanks to this construction, it gave developers further insight into what they could do to improve the new method of transport, considering that they were still in the early stages of development (CNNTravel, 2019). At the end of 2018, around October, HyperloopTT constructed another full-size Hyperloop pod in Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain. Construction of this project can be seen in the video below which HyperloopTT documented and uploaded online (CNNTravel, 2019). However, while looking at existing Hyperloop systems in various parts of the world, it is safe to say that Hyperloop is not quite commercial yet and still remains unheard of in most of the world’s countries. Thankfully, we are moving towards further progression of Hyperloop development. An estimated time frame that Hyperloop will be available in more bigger cities could be as far away as 2030. This has been estimated by looking at the Mumbai – Pune Hyperloop proposal, which should be commercially available by 2029, connecting the two major cities together (KPMG, 2019). One day in the future, Hyperloop will be available to all commuters who are looking for a quicker transport system to go anywhere they need to go, such as work, school etc. Until then, we can only look forward to the amazing transport system. After all, what is there to not look forward to? Hyperloop is going to have so many benefits to society. Why we can’t wait for Hyperloop Firstly, commuting by hyperloop may prove to be cheaper than other methods of transportation, which would be more than ideal for those who don’t have very high incomes (CNBC, 2020). This is great considering the phenomenal speed of Hyperloop. Talk about getting a bang for your buck! Also, there will be no weather delays or inconveniences as Hyperloop is a tube-like system, allowing for greater efficiency. Lastly, Hyperloop will be able to link large cities together, changing why people travel. This would allow for somebody to live in a cheap city and work in a larger city further away that they would not normally be able to work in. Until 2030, we eagerly await the commercialization of Hyperloop worldwide. Don't forget to like us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter! References Used:
